Bethany 101 & 201 Classes to Begin

Bethany 101 and Bethany 201 are courses that explore the key truths of the Christian faith from a Lutheran perspective and the process and purpose of membership at Bethany using the Bethany Blueprint as our design.

Attendance at 101 is required for those joining Bethany Lutheran Church.  Bethany 201 is required for those joining Bethany Lutheran apart from the transferring of membership from another LCMS congregation.  Those transferring membership are welcome to attend our 201 sessions.

  • Bethany 101 is a one session experience where we talk about the history of Bethany, our vision, structure and the Bethany blueprint.
  • Bethany 201 covers the core basics of the Christian faith from a Lutheran perspective, in 3 sessions.  We use discussion, instruction and video presentation in each session.

The next Bethany 101 sessions will be held on Sunday, April 2 and again Sunday, April 30.  These sessions are held in the Parish Lounge and begin at 10:55AM, running approximately an hour to an hour and a half. Child care is available with an RSVP.

The next Bethany 201 sessions begins on Sunday, May 7 and concludes on Sunday, May 21.  Once again sessions are held in the Parish Lounge, begin at 10:55, run approximately an hour to an hour and a half and offer child care with an RSVP.

Please RSVP your attendance with our church office at (562)421-4711 or by emailing our Office Administrator Cindy Morrison at

Stepping Stone for 1st Graders:

One of our traditions here at Bethany is to present a Bible to our 1st graders who have gone through a 3-week study of Bible stories with their parents & myself. This is a fun/informative class studying God's Word with our little ones. If you & your family are interested in participating in this class, let me know as soon as you can so that enough Bibles can be on hand. We will meet in Room 114 at 9:30AM on May 7, 14, and 21.

Shut-In Ministry:

Do you know of someone who is a shut-in and would like a visit from Pastor, an Elder, or from myself (your DCE)? We have a list in the church office of those that we regularly visit and take Communion. If you have someone that we might add to that list, please contact our church secretary, Cindy Morrison or I and we would be happy to get that process started. If you have any questions about our Shut-In Ministry, please contact me at or call ext. 19. - Karl Fink, DCE

Sound Technicians Needed:
We currently have a few sound technician slots open. No prior experience is required. We will train and teach you everything that you will need to know. We also understand hectic calendars so we do our best to schedule sound technicians around prior commitments. The majority of your time commitment is on Sunday mornings for one of three services: 8:00, 9:30, and 10:55AM, as well as occasional Wednesday evening services. If you or someone you know is interested in serving or if you would like more information, please do not hesitate to email Emily Duescher at Thank you and we hope that this may be an area in which you will consider serving.

Are You Receiving The Bethany Bullet?

The Bethany Bullet is a weekly capsule of worship highlights and big information that your brain may or may not have 'downloaded' from the prior Sunday. The purpose is to bolster you in faith, build you up in the key Biblical themes shared the previous Sunday in worship, to bring to mind the important issues on Bethany's plate and to broaden your awareness of opportunities of service to your Lord, your church, and your community. Tell a friend about The Bethany Bullet!  Email Aimee Coleman ( with your name and email address to be added to the distribution list.
