March Lenten Worship Schedule:
Wednesday Evening Lenten Worship - March 3, 10, 17 , and 24 at 7:00PM (Soup Supper is at 5:30PM in the Gym)
Habitiat for Humanity:
Join us on Sunday, March 7 to hear how Thrivent and Habitat for Humanity are helping our community by building a house. Representatives from Thrivent Builds and Habitat will join Pastor Seth Moorman at 9:30AM in the Parish Lounge for an informative hour you don't want to miss. Save the date, our first Bethany Build Day is Saturday, May 15th.
Annual Golf Tournament:
The Brianna Esswein Memorial Golf Tournament is just around the corner! We have been collecting some foursomes already and slots are beginning to fill. We will continue to have a table in Friendship Square on Sundays with fliers, and you can always get one during the week from Karl Fink. We play on Friday, March 19 at the Montebello Country Club. Shot-gun start is scheduled for 8:00AM with a luncheon and raffle to follow. Any questions, contact Karl Fink at kfink@bethanylutheran.org. Bethany's Annual Easter Egg Hunt:
Join the Board of Evangelism on Saturday, March 20 for Bethany's 2nd Annual Easter Egg Hunt! The festivities will begin at 10:00AM with crafts, a short message, snacks and prizes, plus THREE age appropriate hunts:
Preschool
Kingergarten & 1st Grade
2nd-4th Grade
This is an easy and non-threatening way to bring those who do not know Jesus to church! We are in need of loving souls to help work the day of the event, individually wrapped candy for our goodie bags, bakers for our snacks, and of course, plastic Easter eggs! There will be collection boxes in the church and school offices until March 14th if you would like to help in this manner. If you are interested and willing to help or would like information, please see any member of the Board of Evangelism. We hope to see you there, and most importantly don't forget to invite a friend!

Living Way:
Living Way resumed on Wednesday, January 6 at 7PM. This study will take a Lenten break beginning on February 17th. We will resume again after Easter.
Music Ministry Grant:
The Ministry of Music is offering grants to members of Bethany Lutheran Church and who are also involved in some area of music at Bethany. A total of $500 will be awarded and applicants may request any amount up to $500. Applicants must:

Be at least 12 years of age. If under 18 years old, a parent must submit application.

Be involved in some area of music at Bethany Lutheran Church.

Use the grant money to further his/her music education.
-
Be taking some type of music lesson, be majoring or minoring in music at the college-level, or participating in some area of music, i.e. vocal, instrumental, or teaching.
Applications will be available in the church office on February 1, 2010 and will be due on May 31, 2010. They may be turned in or mailed to the church office.
Mission Alaska Special Event:
Mission Alaska is getting ready for a...Cookie Lee Jewelry sale with all proceeds going to Mission Alaska. Catalogs are in the school office so you can browse the catalog and phone in an order OR you can visit our showcase. We will showcase our wears on Friday, March 12 in the school library from 3:30-5:30PM. We will continue to showcase on Saturday, March 13 in the Parish Lounge from 9:00-11:30AM. -Questions? Youth Minded Munchies:
Stop by the table in Friendship Square on Sunday, March 21st after each morning service. It will be your opportunity to pick up some homemade treats along with a Bible verse to share with friends, neighbors, and family. Proceeds from the Youth Minded Munchies will benefit the National Youth Gathering participants from Bethany. Thank you for your support!
Blood Drive:
On Sunday, March 21st Bethany will host a Red Cross Blood Drive beginning at 8AM. Please consider donating. -Cindy Stock
Bethany's Couple's Event:
Saturday, March 20, 2010 we will be taking a cruise at 6:30PM at Gondola Getaway. Gondola Getaway has authentic Venetian gondolas that gently cruise the enchanting canals and waterways of Naples Island near the resort area of Belmont Shores in Long Beach. If interested, please contact Ben Koehlinger, Jim Kurkowski, or Chris Ford to see if tickets are still available.
