MUSIC MINISTRY INFORMATION:
Senior Choir is off to a grand start with over 86 names on the roster. This is one of the largest groups in recent history…and we are particularly thankful to have so many new Bethany members as a part of the group. Kevin Bowers continues to be our faithful accompanist!
Power Sundays (for Celebrate! and High School Handbells) We have a good number of youth participating, but there is always room for more. We are happy to see the new rehearsal schedule has allowed some students to return! As always we love having Bible class with Mr. Andersen and are grateful for Sara Cerulle and Kevin Bowers who continue to lead these musical groups.
SoulSing was happy to have found some budding musical talent over the summer. They're hoping to get all the musicians together again, as soon as Pastor Seth finds a new worship leader to assist him with this service. Kevin Bowers will continue on the keyboard, but Pastor Seth is hoping to find someone who can take charge of the guitar-playing and PowerPoint presentations.
Our Handbell Choirs continue to ring praises on Wednesday and Thursday evenings. This eyar we have 3 school bells groups and 2 school hand chime groups. In addition to Carol McDaniel's direction, we are happy to have Ellen Pratt, Mary Fink, and Phil Lang helping with this program.
Sound Technicians are needed...especially if you are interested in training for our Sunday night SoulSing services. We will happily allow you to "apprentice" with an experience technician...and give you plenty of time to learn. Please call Carol McDaniel in the church office if you are interested.
The Music Academy has started lessons for the fall term. We offer piano in grades 2-8, and voice and organ instruction in grades 7-8. If interested in joining, we may still have room, and would be happy to pro-rate your semester tuition based on the actual number of lessons. Please speak to Maureen Kurkowski in the church office or email her at mkurkowski@bethanylutheran.org.
We welcome aboard Concordia students: Wally Schmidt and Nathan Mitz as our music fieldwork students for the coming academic year. They are musically gifted, but exceptionally nice young men as well. Take a moment to introduce yourself to them, and please add them to your prayer list, along with the rest of the Bethany staff. Thank you!
